A tension clamp (strain clamp, dead-end clamp) is a fitting used to fix a wire to withstand the tension of the wire and to hang the wire to the string-resistant string or tower.
The tension clamps can be roughly divided into two categories according to the structure and installation conditions. The first type: the tension clamp is to withstand the full tension of the wire or the lightning protection wire. The clamping force of the clamp is not less than 90 of the rated tensile strength of the installed wire or lightning conductor, but not as a conductor. This type of clamp can be removed after the wire is installed and used separately. This type of wire clamp has a bolt type tensile clamp and a wedge type tensile clamp. The second type: the tensile clamp is used as an electrical conductor in addition to the full tensile force of the wire or lightning conductor. Therefore, once this type of clip is installed, it can no longer be disassembled, which is also called a dead clip. Since it is an electrical conductor, the installation of the clamp must be carried out in strict accordance with the provisions of the installation and operation procedures.
Tension clamps are used for cornering, splicing, and terminal connections. The spiral aluminum clad steel wire has strong tensile strength and no concentrated stress, which protects the optical cable and assists in damping. Strain entire cable fittingcomprising: Strain preformed wire , supporting the connection fittings . The grip strength of the clamp is not less than 95% of the rated tensile strength of the cable. It is convenient and quick to install, reducing the construction cost. Applicable to ADSScable line with track pitch ≤100m and line angle <25°  .
The tension clamp is used to fix the wire or the lightning protection wire to the non- linear pole tower tensile insulator string, which acts as an anchor and is also used to fix the cable of the cable tower .
